About Custom Collar Covers

In January 2004, the owner of Custom Collar Covers, Kristyl Lindbery, underwent a cervical fusion in her neck. She had to wear a cervical collar for approximately two months. She found the collar to be embarrassing, bulky, and uncomfortable. It also got dirty very quickly and looked grungy.

She came up with the idea of covering her collar with a soft, comfortable material that could be removed and washed daily if necessary.

She also tried using different colors and patterns to match what she was wearing. This made the collar less obvious and it became fun to wear. She enjoyed the collar covers and everyone who saw her wearing them had a great response - even the doctor! She researched the idea and found a niche of her own - designing fashionable collar covers.
